Predictions 2016-2017 (Round 13)

So my system finally had a good week.

In the last round, I picked 5 out of 10 correctly with 4 correct scores for 170 points.   Mark Lawrenson predicted 6 out of 10 correctly with 1 correct score for 100 points.  Paul Merson predicted 6 out of 10 correctly with 1 correct score for 100 points.

For the season I have picked 49 out of 120 correctly with 13 correct scores for 880 points. Lawrenson picked 68 out of 120 correctly with 12 correct scores for 1050 points.  Merson has picked 65 out of 100 correctly with 10 correct scores for 960 points.

Southampton Weekly Salaries (Update initial FM 2017 database)

Football Manager 2017 has been released. I have listed the weekly salaries of Southampton players below.

As I stated in my prior FM based salary lists, I have no idea how accurate these figures are and they do not take into account performance bonuses.  On the other hand, during the summer of 2014 when I was considering Financial Fair Play issues, FM’s base salaries fairly closely corresponded to the information released by the club for the players’ salaries as a whole.

I have left the last three sets of numbers in so it is easy to see the changes.  The salaries are in thousands of pounds per week.

Everyone else is listed as making £5K a week or less so I will stop here.

The weekly total is £1,031,000 or £53.6 million a year. Last year the weekly total was £951,500 or £49.5 million a year.  That surprised me.  I thought the total salary would go up more than that but we did lose £224.5 K a week from the player who left, but the £2,000 per week reduction in Ward-Prose’s salary which I assume is not real, but just a case of FM reassessing their sources or guesses.

On the surface, it looks as if Targett and McQueen should get improved contracts. For that matter, Martina might deserve one as well.

Predictions 2016-2017 (Round 12)

In the last round, I picked 3 out of 10 correctly with 1 correct score for 60 points.   Mark Lawrenson predicted 4 out of 10 correctly with 1 correct score for 70 points.  Paul Merson predicted 5 out of 10 correctly with 1 correct score for 80 points.

For the season I have picked 44 out of 110 correctly with 9 correct scores for 710 points. Lawrenson picked 62 out of 100 correctly with 11 correct scores for 950 points.  Merson has picked 549out of 100 correctly with 9 correct scores for 860 points.
